Hickstead – Longines Royal International Horse Show

Team Hannibal Brown packed up our travelling wine stand and headed to Hickstead, Sussex, for the Royal International Horse Show.  Needless to say, it was very, very wet!  We still have some great Personalised Wine orders for winners which we designed on the spot.  A great gift or prize for any event.

We took a great range of wines, which varied from a classic Ribero del Duero through to a Biodynamic Gruner Veltliner from Austria.  The latter being our best seller!

We do love our hardy outdoor customers.  Adorned with sensible boots, good solid waterproof hats and a willingness to enjoy their day whatever the whether, the crowds came to enjoy the show and get stuck into the shopping and food offerings.

Our favourite food stand was undoubtedly The Curry Squad – fantastic Indian Street Food to go!  www.currysquad.com  Their Gluten Free Onion Bhajis went brilliantly with our Villa Wolf Pinot Noir Rosé from Germany – try the combination to believe it!

We’ve included some pictures of our personalised label designs and general scenes from the event.

It’s not just at our outside events that we design fabulous labels, you can order online by clicking here, or you could visit our wine shop hannibalbrown.com to view our full range of wines – it’s free delivery on 12 bottles and no minimum order!  Enjoy!

Hannibal at Hay Literary Festival

Hay-on-Wye, Herefordshire, 25th May – 4th June 2017

In a field, near a little village, a long way from London, once a year is held the worlds largest book festival.

This year we made our mark on the event, and we will be back.  You could find us next to Greenpeace

between the ‘Tata Tent’ and the festival bookshop.  Every hour or so a current of the most sophisticated festival goers I’ve ever known flowed into the various tents and then an hour later, after the event, the deluge, in their thousands heading for the bookshop, where they wait for book signings.

In order to celebrate this event we designed a range of wines especially for Hay which we were selling on our stand.  Take a look at the images below.  The ‘Literary Range’ went down brilliantly, as did our great selection of wines.  We were also designing personalised wine labels for our customers on the spot.

I list the range of wines which were on offer at the event below:

WHITE
Klippenkop Chenin Blanc, South Africa
Casa Azul Sauvignon Blanc, Chile
Casa Azul Merlot, Chile
Castelforte Soave,  Italy
Nuviana Chardonnay , Spain
Andres Scherer Riesling , France

ROSÉ
J L Wolf Pinot Noir Rose, Germany
Domaine de la Zouina Rosé, Morocco
Chateau Ollieux Rosé, France
RED
Monsieur La Barbe Merlot, France
 Santa Julia Malbec (Organic), Argentina
Casas del Bosque Carmenere, Chile
Casas del Bosque Sauvignon Blanc , Chile
Rioja Reserva ‘Gavanza’, Spain
Casas del Bosque Pinot Noir Reserva, Chile
Casas del Bosque Syrah Gran Reserva, Chile
Simon Hackett Old Vine Grenache, Australia
Finca Agostino Familia Malbec Blend, Argentina
SPARKLING
Pignoletto Coli d’Imola, Italy
Sacchetto Prosecco, Italy
Sacchetto Spumante Blush, Italy

We look forwards to seeing you there next year!

Spirit of Spring Wine Tasting Event

20+ wines with BIG personalities

Our first wine tasting event this year is inspired by those big personalities who are dominating the news – Trump being the The Donald Trump 'v' The Meryl Streepobvious one.  May, Johnson, Putin…the list goes on.

As with human being’s, wine’s also have character and personality.  The larger the character the more likely to either please and offend – ‘The Marmite Effect’.  Wines with a more gentle, subtle character are more likely to please the masses – i.e. Pinot Grigio and Prosecco!

We have chosen this theme for both the wines at our Spring Wine Tasting and also a short presentation entitled ‘The Donald Trump ‘v’ The Meryl Streep’.  We will be tasting examples of the bold and brash in comparison with the sophisticated and refined and discuss what factors affect these characters.

So if you enjoy a wine with a bit of oomph then snap up a ticket to our Spirit of Spring Tasting – 23rd March @Raynes Park Library.

Hannibal Brown Presents…The Feel Good Summer Picnic Wine Tasting

FGB Tasting banner thin

A Wine and Sandwich pairing that made us smile from the inside!

A beautifully warm summer’s evening in the heart of Wimbledon, we gathered around 50 people, and around 50 bottles of wine and bubbly, and embarked on a fun filled evening of great wine, delicious sandwiches and an interesting insight into the Feel Good Bakery and their work.

Wine tasting is a fabulous way to socialise, network and spread the word about great causes – that’s what the ‘Hannibal Brown Presents…‘ Series is all about!

The Feel Good Bakery told their story and brought in new business, we had lots of people enjoying our delicious wines and we raised money and awareness for this fantastic cause too!

Here are some images from the event:
